See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Formerly a Temperance Hotel and Shop located just off the Malton town centre, and in front of the Brass Castle Brewery. A short walk from railway and bus stations. The single-roomed bar is tastefully designed in a rustic style with one wall covered with barrel staves. Two upstairs rooms with a comfortable seating area in one and a Bar Billiards Table in the other. Five regular changing cask ales are offered together with six key-keg ales and lager, predominantly from the brewery. A range of foreign bottled beers, canned cider, wines and spirits are also available. All current brewery beers are available for on site consumption and off sales in cans. Snacks may be purchased at the bar, and takeaway meals may be brought in from the many local sources. There are monthly quiz and open mic music nights. There is a small smoking/drinking area to the rear of the premises. Brewery tours and tastings can be arranged. From April to November there are regular weekend special events with extended beer selections, other brewery collaborations live music and food vendors.
