The Alma re-opens
Marie Landlady of The Frigate and now The Alma shares the cozy
back room on opening night Tuesday 30th December with guests.
Following a long period of closure during which the pub building was auctioned and
sold on we are happy to report that one of the oldest pubs in Scarborough is now back in business.
Although half the size of the old pub (the other half still up for sale - possibly as flats) it
has been nicely refurbished in a traditional manner. The aim is to have a choice of 3 changing
ales - a pale, a bitter and a mild or porter. We wish Marie & Dennis all the best

Following the COVID lockdown and economic crisis numerous pubs have changed their opening hours and operating routines, including their beer offerings
As a branch we maintain the information displayed on CAMRA's Pub website and rely on the feedback of members and the public to keep this information accurate
When visiting any of our pubs, if you notice any changes when visiting your local pub or any other pub in our branch area please submit via the feedback tab on the CAMRA website

Beer Scores needed
The selection meeting for the next Good Beer Guide will take place in February
One of the ways we identify pubs for consideration is via members beer scores
These beer scores are based on how well the beer is kept in the pub or club, the condition it retains, clarity and head retention, any off flavours, etc. The scores are not based on whether you like the beer!
To help us identify the pubs serving quality real ale we need your scores and these can be entered via the CAMRA website on the home page for each pub.
