See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Located just off the fine Victorian Royal Crescent Hotel complex, the bar's name celebrates John Paul Jones, father of the American Navy. His ship, the Bonhomme Richard, was involved in a battle off nearby Flamborough Head during the War of Independence in September 1779. Up to four hand pumps dispense ale in summer reducing to two in winter. A quiz is held on Saturday afternoon each week at 4pm. Live music on Sunday afternoon from 4pm. Formally a local CAMRA Rural Winner & Runner-up Pub of the Year.
