See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A welcoming atmosphere greets locals and steam railway enthusiasts at this multi-roomed low-ceilinged Grade II listed pub, situated on the banks of the attractive Pickering Beck, opposite the Beck Isle Museum of Country Life. The terminus of the North York Moors Steam Railway is nearby. There is a large main bar and separate dining area. There is a happy 'hour' from 5-8pm Mon-Thurs and an occassional quiz on Sunday evenings. Children are welcome until 9pm. There is an extensive outdoor drinking and smoking area next to the beck. The pub has flooded six times in recent years in times of torrential rain.
