Boasting most frequent local branch entries (17 years), a family-run pub converted from the cellars of a Victorian house. Six handpumps dispense guest beers from micros around the country. Excellent locally sourced, home-cooked food is available lunchtimes and evenings, with Sunday lunches probably the best in town. Quiz night is Tuesday, open mic night is Wednesday, local acoustic acts appear on Thursday, and Saturday is live music night. The patio fronting the pub is popular in summer. Children and dogs are welcome and accommodation is available. Discounts for CAMRA members.
